Survey on “Veterinary medicines in beekeeping around the world”

2017 RELAUNCH

In 2015 and 2016 TECA promoted the survey “Veterinary medicines in beekeeping around the world: Which active ingredients are in use and do they respond to the needs of beekeepers?”.  The survey is an initiative of the Institute for Animal Diseases of Latium and Tuscany (IZSLT – Italy) with the assistance of APIMONDIA.

The survey has been re-opened until 31 August 2017 to collect more inputs.  Beekeepers, veterinarians and advisory service providers are invited to participate in the survey. Those who have participated to the previous edition (2015-16) should not participate again. The survey is available in English, French and Spanish through the following links:

French: https://fr.surveymonkey.com/r/medicaments_veterinaires_en_apiculture2017

Spanish: https://es.surveymonkey.com/r/medicamentos_veterinarios_en_la_apicultura2017

English: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/Veterinary_medicines_in_beekeeping2017

In the survey, respondents are asked to provide information about the disease(s) they encounter in their hives and present their methods for treatment. It will also help to learn from beekeepers about their opinion on the impact of different bee diseases on the health of honeybees and about the veterinary medicines and treatments they use. This survey will contribute to increase the global knowledge on beekeeping by collecting data on a global level.

The survey consists of three parts:

Part A: Gather information from participants on their perception of the honeybee diseases and the proper management of the hives.

Part B: Understand the concerns of participants about the main diseases affecting beekeeping in different areas around the world: Varroa, American Foulbrood (AFB) and European Foulbrood (EFB).

Part C: Understand what kind of assistance beekeepers receive to face the honeybee issues.

The survey is anonymous (no obligation to fill in your name) and will take about 15 to 20 minutes of your time.

You are warmly invited to participate!!!

(Please ONLY participate, if you are a practicioners, veterinary and expert in beekeeping and/or partly involved in beekeeping)
