Data management system

The internet-based system that manages the relational database for collecting and processing CRN-NRL data, is also equipped with an ‘expert’ system. It is continuously updated, compared to current international standards, and categorizes the quantitative data entered as Sensitive, Intermediate or Resistant (in mm per Disk Diffusion – DD or mg/L per Minimum Inhibitory Concentration – MIC). Information can be extracted from the database as quantitative and qualitative and in the form of summary tables according to current legislation.

The system can provide information to participants in the network, who can extract data pertaining to regional-level evaluations.

The application can also handle data produced for other pathogenic bacterial agents in animal husbandry or companion animals and humans, for the benefit of network participants who feed the system. The data can be downloaded in various formats (e.g. .xls, .mdb) for local and regional monitoring purposes.
