BPRACTICES at the World Bee Day 2018

20 May is World Bee Day

BPRACTICES team will join the celebrations attending the World Beekeeping Conference that will be held from May 18 in Žirovnica (Slovenia) and organised by the Slovenian Beekeepers’ Association and the Public Advisory Service on Beekeeping, in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food and the Žirovnica Primary School.

The event will focus on global beekeeping challenges and it desires to share experiences and expertise in order to determine effective solutions for resolving problems discovered in beekeeping and to outline short-term goals for their fulfilment.
The BPRACTICES team will take part with the talks “Good beekeeping practices to enhance the efficacy of varroacide low environmental impact treatments”, given by Giovanni Formato, and “Varroa control to ensure healthy honeybee colonies” given by Ales Gregorc.

Moreover, to celebrate World Bee Day, BPRACTICES team has contributed to release the publication “Main bee diseases: good beekeeping practices”, produced by TECA (Technologies and Practices for Small Agricultural Producers), FAO, whose contents were produced by the Institute Zooprofilattico Sperimentale del Lazio e della Toscana and Apimondia. The publication will be distributed during the Bee Day Celebrations in Slovenia and will be soon after published for download on FAO TECA and BPRACTICES websites.
